So, when Christmas came around, I didn&#8217;t have the budget to buy beautiful stockings. I only\u00a0had the cash to craft ours\u00a0with cheap\u00a0stockings, felt and lots of\u00a0glitter (the cure-all for all crafts gone wrong).<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"8277030532_dd9fc4000d_o by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8284351405\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"8277030532_dd9fc4000d_o\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8076\/8284351405_3c5d4b74d7.jpg\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>This beautiful photo was taken by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crazybananas.com\" target=\"_blank\">Megan<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Since that time, I have wanted to upgrade our stockings every year, but Keegan is not on board, because he likes our current ones. I personally think he likes their price. So, after having a baby, it was time to add a stocking for her to the mix. And, for\u00a0less than $10, I made one. It is my favorite so far.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re looking for an inexpensive way to make stockings, all you&#8217;ll need is a felt stocking, sheets of felt, leftover buttons or sequins, glitter, parchment paper, thread, pins, needles\u00a0and glue.<\/p>\n<p>The first time I made these, I used red stockings, but\u00a0I couldn&#8217;t find a red one anywhere this time. Apparently, these cheap $1 stockings go like hot\u00a0cakes in red.\u00a0Instead, I\u00a0found this pink one and thought it would be pretty cute. I chose red glitter and pink felt, along with silver glitter to jazz it up.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how to make\u00a0one for yourself:<\/p>\n<p>1. Use a pen or marker to draw your shape(s). I chose a star and made a variety of sizes. The black marker\u00a0I\u00a0had been using bled through, so I had to use a pen on the light pink felt.<\/p>\n<p>2. Cut out the shapes.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"wreath 005 by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8285402920\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"wreath 005\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8362\/8285402920_7e7720cdfa.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0Place your shapes.<\/p>\n<p>4. When you&#8217;re happy with the\u00a0layout, secure them with straight pins.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"wreath 022 by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8284339969\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"wreath 022\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8204\/8284339969_eb1a881415.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>5. Turn the stocking inside out and sew the stars on using a\u00a0simple stitch. I basically made one small stitch in the center of each. Looping and knotting my thread several times until it felt secure. If you&#8217;re uncomfortable sewing, then I think you could just hot glue to attach your shapes.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"wreath 023 by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8285396906\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"wreath 023\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8206\/8285396906_80259b11b9.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0Turn the stocking\u00a0right side out and add buttons, sequins or any other embellishments. You can use hot glue or simply stitch them on.<\/p>\n<p>7. On a piece of parchment\u00a0or wax paper, use glue to write\u00a0the person&#8217;s name. Now, shake\u00a0on the glitter until it&#8217;s covered.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"wreath 024 by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8284332437\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"wreath 024\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8072\/8284332437_dfd7d2870d.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>8.
