The whole thermometer thing has me completely intimidated. That being said, I can make bark. Bark is basically candy for people who can&#8217;t make candy.<\/p>\n<p>This<a href=\"http:\/\/www.myrecipes.com\/recipe\/white-chocolate-cherry-bark-50400000118567\/\" target=\"_blank\"> little recipe<\/a> is from <em>Cooking Light<\/em>. I&#8217;ve had it bookmarked for a year with the intention I&#8217;d make it at Christmas. Toasted almonds, dried cherries and pretzels come together for a tasty treat that&#8217;s also really pretty.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"bubble bath 009 by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8291946472\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"bubble bath 009\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8361\/8291946472_49c461e270.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s so easy. I made it in less than 10 minutes, while the baby thumped away in the kitchen. Don&#8217;t believe me? You microwave the chocolate. Really, it doesn&#8217;t get much simpler than that.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>White Chocolate Bark with Pretzels, Almonds and Dried Cherries<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Ingredients<\/em><\/p>\n<p>2 tablespoons sliced almonds<\/p>\n<p>1\/3 cup dried cherries, chopped<\/p>\n<p>2\/3 c.\u00a0small salted pretzel sticks, broken into 1\/4-inch pieces<\/p>\n<p>1 (12-ounce) package premium white chocolate chips<\/p>\n<p>Place almonds in a skillet over high heat. Cook 2 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring frequently. Watch them closely. Remove from heat. Combine almonds, cherries and pretzels in a bowl. Set aside.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"bubble bath 006 by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8290894341\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"bubble bath 006\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8084\/8290894341_8784cf3599.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Place the white chocolate chips in a\u00a0microwaveable bowl.\u00a0Microwave at HIGH 1 1\/2 minutes or until chocolate melts, stirring every 30 seconds. I added an extra 5 seconds, because mine hadn&#8217;t melted yet. Add half of the pretzel mixture to your bowl and stir well.<\/p>\n<p>Spread chocolate mixture evenly with a spatula into a 12 x 7-inch rectangle on a jelly-roll pan lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle remaining pretzel mixture evenly over the chocolate, pressing lightly to adhere.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"bubble bath 008 by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8291948842\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"bubble bath 008\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8353\/8291948842_ef81d001b7.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Freeze 10 minutes. Break into pieces.
