I&#8217;m a huge fan of Nigella Lawson and have been for many years. I adore her cooking show and was excited to dive in to this one.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"butternut by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8317026046\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"butternut\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8078\/8317026046_6c6a426b16.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not familiar with her, here she is looking as beautiful as always.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oOLzCunz7qM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know if it was the decadence of the holidays or what, but I wasn&#8217;t really in the mood for this cookbook. So, after a month of working my way through this, I have to tell you it wasn&#8217;t one of my favorites. The way it&#8217;s organized made it a little difficult to navigate, and\u00a0she uses a lot of ingredients that I have a hard time finding, like smoked chorizo.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"africandrumsticks by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8315973881\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"africandrumsticks\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8083\/8315973881_8dea5ca3df.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That being said, I had a few favorites. One of which is an all time favorite of mine.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodnetwork.com\/recipes\/nigella-lawson\/chicken-teriyaki-recipe\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Chicken Teriyaki<\/a><\/li>\n<li>African Drumsticks<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2011\/07\/15\/131419054\/recipe-butternut-arugula-and-pine-nut-salad\" target=\"_blank\">Butternut, Arugula and Pine Nut Salad<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nigella.com\/recipes\/view\/spanish-chicken-with-chorizo-and-potatoes-5160\" target=\"_blank\">Spanish Chicken with Chorizo and Potatoes<\/a>\u00a0(This is a favorite of mine.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"salad by missalaneyus, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/misslaney\/8317021894\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"salad\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8491\/8317021894_d09fd16f11.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For January, I&#8217;m excited to announce I&#8217;ll be working through The Food Matters Cookbook by Mark Bittman. I&#8217;ve already made a few and think it will be a nice change after the gluttony of the last few days.
