In this post, I&#8217;m sharing our favorite stops and experiences from our Berlin trip. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was surprised by how much I loved Berlin. In fact, it ended up being my favorite stop on the trip. It has a cool, urban vibe that mixes unexpectedly with lots of sustainable amentities. Think graffiti with well-used bike lanes, patios, and greenspace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-alley.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"900\" src=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-alley.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7973\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-alley.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-alley-233x300.jpg 233w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to Stay in Berlin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We stayed at the <a href=\"https:\/\/precisetalepotsdamerplatz.atberlinhotels.com\/en\/\">Precise Tale Berlin<\/a> and really liked the apartment style accommodations. It also had a beautiful greenspace out back, where Keegan and I could enjoy a nightcap together. I will say, Google is showing it as permanently closed&#8230;&#8230;so double check before you book. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to Eat in Berlin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We ate really well in Berlin. Ellie loves to tell people she loved the food there, which takes everyone by surprise. I&#8217;d recommend hitting these spots to best understand how great food can be in Germany. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/stbartpub.com\/\">St. Bart<\/a> &#8211; This was our favorite stop on the entire trip. It is a darling restaurant with a beautiful seasonal menu. Our waitress was delightful. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.feinkost-kaefer.de\/pages\/dachgarten-restaurant-berlin\">Kafer<\/a> &#8211; This was a half attraction half food stop. It is in the Reichstag building, so a two for one. We ended up getting brunch here, which is the way to go, in my opinion. Keep in mind you&#8217;ll have to go through lots of security to get to the restaurant, so leave ample time. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pratergarten.de\/en\">Prater Beer Garden<\/a> &#8211; Biergartens are more of a Southern Germany thing, but I&#8217;d recommend this for a lunch stop, if the weather is good. FYI, you order at the counter and then, bring your food to your picnic table. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fes-turkishbbq.de\/\">Fes<\/a> &#8211; A Turkish bbq, each table has a small grill at it. Guests grill up their own meat, which is a fun experience. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.michelbergerhotel.com\/en\/food-and-drink\/\">Michelberger Restaurant<\/a> &#8211; This is a very cool restaurant with lots of inventive small, seasonal plates. We ate outside on their large patio. I believe they had blankets to cozy up with, but either way, I&#8217;d dress for the weather if you&#8217;re dining there. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-jewish-memorial.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" src=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-jewish-memorial.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7974\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-jewish-memorial.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-jewish-memorial-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to Go in Berlin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We were only in Berlin for a few days, and while we were there, they were hosting the Euro Cup, which was a very cool experience. Given our tight timeline, we focused on a handful of experiences. Here&#8217;s what we did each day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day One<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We visited the Jewish Memorial and strolled around Berlin. This was a must stop. Don&#8217;t forget to visit the museum there. It is located underneath the memorial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also swung by Brandenburg Gate and saw the set-up for the Euro Cup. We typically keep this first day, really light and simple, because we are exhausted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-euro-cup.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"700\" src=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-euro-cup.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7975\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-euro-cup.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-euro-cup-300x300.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-euro-cup-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day Two<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We headed to the Reichstag for brunch and then, went to see the Berlin Wall Memorial. If you&#8217;ve never been, you may be surprised to discover that there are segments of wall left throughout the city. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitberlin.de\/en\/blog\/top-11-places-see-what-remains-wall\">Each one has it&#8217;s own memorial<\/a>. We visited the Bernauer Strasse location, which was a 7-minute drive from the Reichstag building. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the afternoon, we walked to Checkpoint Charlie which was very close to our hotel and stopped by the Topographie of Terror exhibit (this was a really well-done memorial with lots of great educational information.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-wall.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" src=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-wall.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7976\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-wall.jpg 700w, http:\/\/www.missalaneyus.com\/wordpress4\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/berlin-wall-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day Three<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On our last day, we did a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secretfoodtours.com\/berlin\/\">Secret Food Tour<\/a>. This is one of my favorite ways to get to know a place. Not only did we get to try a lot of local dishes, we also had the opportunity to explore a new neighborhood and wander through the coolest art alley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be sure to pace yourself. They serve a ton of food on this tour. If you decided to forgo the tour, you should definitely still check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/theculturemap.com\/street-art-alley-hackescher-markt-berlin\/\">art alley.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tour will also finish up around a great shopping area.
