Lately

Don’t let this serene photo fool you. Things have been nuts around here. Moving and selling your house is not for the faint of heart, but we’re starting to get settled. So, soon, it will be like this. Maybe.

Yard

The house next to our is empty right now. A local developer will be flipping it soon, but in the meantime, the yard looks like a secret garden. Overgrown bushes and trees have created archways and little light filled nooks. It is beautiful in the early evening, don’t you think?

Here, we are, two fancy ladies, taking a quick selfie. I’m wearing this dress from the Milly/Kohl’s collaboration. The print is great, and the cut is really flattering. Plus, there are pockets. In case you couldn’t tell, I’m a huge fan of it.

On days I’m home with Ellie, we have these rice bowls a lot. Brown rice, cherry tomatoes, avocado, lime, black beans and a little feta make for a satisfying lunch we both enjoy.

ellie-program

This was at Ellie’s program. She was pretty over the moon when she walked on stage and saw us in the audience.

We should talk about these tacos from How Sweet It Is. They are fast and easy and really flavorful. Give this recipe a try soon. Plus, it makes a ton of chicken, so you can throw the leftovers in the freezer or add them to another meal.

These ear jackets are the perfect way to spice up an otherwise boring or traditional outfit. If you’ve never worn this style before, prepare to be amazed. The stud is shown on the front of your ear, while the back part (jacket) peeks out from behind your lobe. This pair is on heavy rotation at my house.

Hello

Hi!

Hi!

I'm Lane. I’m the wife to an engineer, the mama to Ellie and a small business owner. I love trashy T.V., good books, a little pampering and great meals.
