KCFW: Friday Night’s Shows

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to attend Kansas City Fashion Week (KCFW) as a media blogger. The event showcased nine designers. Here’s a brief description of each collection:

  • Paulie Gibson: Tropical prints in bright hues were punctuated with sheer fabrics.
  • Molly Elizabeth Designs: This collection was reminiscent of the 60’s and very mod. Many of the models wore a white lip.
  • Ola Style: Large scale florals and bright, bold prints were accented with cut-outs.
  • Afielda: Tailored pieces were white and gold with special jeweled details and capes.
  • Davi: Coral, navy and crisp whites were fresh at Davi.
  • FabriKait Designs: This collection was influenced by the 70’s and showcased tie-dye, ikat and block prints.
  • Jenna Sea: This swimwear collection was a breath of fresh air. In this show, we saw a variety of body types wearing vibrant, jewel tone suits in ultra flattering shapes.
  • Lauren Bander: Breezy silhouettes were shown in shades of brown, blue and green.
  • Joshua Christensen: Mesh, spandex and sporty silhouettes rocked the runaway alongside crisp denim jumpsuits and black and white graphic prints.
